Amanda has been a practicing herbalist for over twenty years.  She was admitted to membership of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (UK) in 1986 and completed an MSc. degree in herbal medicine with distinction from the University of Wales, UK in 2003.  She is currently a research associate at Royal Roads University Centre for Non Timber Resources, sits of the board of the Canadian Council of Herbalists’ Associations and she is a member of  Health Canada’s Expert Advisory Committee for Natural Health Products.  Amanda wild harvests herbs for use in her practice, and is a keen gardener growing medicinal herbs from which she makes many of her own herbal preparations. She is also actively involved in community initiatives to preserve local environment and medicinal plant ecosystems.  Amanda lives and practices in Cumberland on Vancouver Island.
