Herbal Medicine Seminar

July 24-28, 2011-- Clinical Phytotherapy Summer Camp -- Advanced Training in Botanical Medicine for Practitioners and Senior Students
- Case review format
- Detailed discussion of pathologies, therapeutic strategies and botanical materia medica for specific conditions
- Additional lectures on cancer care with botanicals and nutrition. Using cases studies in different types of cancer as examples, review the bio-mechanics of cancer (what it is and how it progresses), blood and tissue tests for diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring, nutritional and botanical interventions, working with chemotherapy and radiation and overall case management strategie
- Yoga, herb walks, horticulture therapy home cooking and lots of fun.
- Cost $550 plus tax, Vancouver Island.
- Classes 9:30am to 5:30pm (30 hours of intructions)
- Tuition includes, course notes, camping and full meal plan.

FIELD EXPERIENCE
With Netta Zeberoff, M.H., RHT
at Castlegar, BC, Canada

35 hours of field experience over a 5-day period.

Students will learn ecologically sustainable and practical ways of gathering and making herbal medicine.
-
Students will participate in wildcrafting, herb identification, gardening herbs, permaculture, foraging, preserving and cooking.
-
Students will spend time learning herbal medicine making; preparing the dispensary, bottles and labels; making herbal preparations, tinctures, salves and capsules.
-
Registration prerequisite: Successful completion of the Chartered Herbalist Diploma Program from Dominion Herbal College.
